Friday Rant

I hope everyone had a fabulous week. I have never been so glad it's Friday.

I still have to post those reviews I promised. I am writing them in my head...because I waffling on whether I keep them on my bookshelf or not. You will see my dilemma when I wrap it up in my head and get it on here.

So my Friday rant. I think we should all be allowed to do this, so feel free to comment and share your Friday rant. It will be the cyber equivalent of bitching over drinks at the bar.

I seem to be having a problem with people and customer service as of recent. No matter what you are selling...coffee, fast food, books or booze...If I am paying and I am nice to you, BE NICE TO ME. I don't expect you to bend over backwards. I don't expect a waitress to treat me like a celebrity. Or the coffee guy to lavish me with compliments on my gorgeous hair.  I don't expect an author to have a detailed conversation with just me about their current release. But...

Please don't rush me out of the booth if I am not done eating or drinking. If you aren't sure, just ask. I will tip you accordingly. If you don't hear my coffee order correctly, don't wing it. Just ask me. I have absolutely no issue repeating if for you. I understand that in your job, you serve assholes often. Please don't assume I am one. If you are an author, I buy your book and ask you to sign it (at a book signing of all places...the nerve I have) do not act like you are doing me a favor. I bought your frickin book! Thank me and sign it! Everyone else, just be nice. Especially if I pay you my hard earned money. Because, even if you don't that is the last dime you will see from me.

Did I miss when customer service/common courtesy took a nosedive? If your profession relies on people buying things from you...take it from someone who works in Marketing..do what it takes to get the sale. And I am not a bad customer. My expectations are firmly set in reality.

All right. I am done. All whining aside...I am not striving for a sunshiney, rainbow, fluffy cloud kinda universe. I am just aware that everyone (and I do mean everyone) has a level of suckitude in their life. Why add to it? You would want the favor in return.
